First Published Poem: "Beyond What My Eyes Can See!"

What is this thing that my Spirit knows?
This place during the day that my mind does oft go.
This place of abundance that fills my space,
And my prayers are for God's favor and, of course, His grace.
There are longings and desires that wail deep inside
And I pray for God's answers and these issues to subside.
My husband, my ministry, my purpose, my life;
This dream that's truly bigger than I.
Yet, I'm cautious to ask the Lord why.
Why not now, Lord? Why hasn't he come?
And if not why, then when?
When will this ministry begin?
And then silently I search my own heart,
I delve deeply into my most sacred part.
This search is for truth and I seek 'til I find.
Lord, what is this wait for? Why all this time?
Yet, I know that all this will be
Abundance in life, a mate and ministry.
I know you've a plan that I don't always understand,
So by faith I step out, without further doubts,
And go beyond what my eyes can see
Knowing in truth all these things wait for me.

PRAISE FOR:
Beyond What My Eyes Can See!

The above 4 lines alone are worthy of a frame, card or hard stock poster. I already envision those 4 verses sitting on someone's work space desk, bathroom or kitchen wall.
The last 4 verses you wrote should be the last thing anyone reads before they step out into an uncertain world.
Reciting those last 4 verses is the perfect resolution for someone seeking to garner courage or to make inner peace with any indecision whether it is buying a particular house or moving into a new neighborhood.
Be watchful my sister because someone may send you your own four verses printed and signed as demonstrated above on a ceramic plate, church fan, wall plaque or inspirational work desk clock frame.
It may even appear as a inscription on a wedding cake, a house warming gift or a hallmark greeting card because sister, what you wrote, is deep like that.
Sincerely,

TESTIMONIALS:
The gift of being able to express one's self eloquently in writing is a gift. We can all write, but the "how" a person manipulates words effectively... therein lies the wonderful expression of thought that captures the reader or listener. Recently, at the wedding of Bobby and Liz Richard, I heard the words used to encapsulate the new bride and groom's life together since their first meeting. Debra, you are an eloquent and gifted writer; your manipulation of words used to describe the new couple, were absolutely beautiful and exacting in the telling and all present so appreciated that gift! I am grateful I chose you to write and present the poem befitting this special couple. Thank you for carrying out the theme of their lives so well!
Thankfully yours,

What Poetic Justice has been to me is a breath of fresh air that has caused me to exhale and breathe again. It has brought to my life; joy, peace, laughter and divine inspiration. This ministry speaks to my soul; its message is rich and valuable. I can even say it's been life changing because it takes me to a place where I'm awakened in the deepest recesses of my soul. It speaks to the woman that was lying dormant within. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be that the words of this Poet truly speaks "WHOLENESS".

I greet you in the name of our Lord and personal Savior Jesus Christ whom all blessings flow. I heard you speak at a home going celebration in Morgan City, LA in which I attended; and I would like to take this opportunity to say to you what a blessing it was and still is to me. I mean, you did such an outstanding job in presenting the poem. I would like for you to do a poem at my family or friends home-going celebration when the time comes. I know people don't like to talk about death but I'm here to say that the word of God says that there is a time to be born and a time to die. There was such an anointing on you and the words that you spoke. I know it was from GOD! Again, I would like to say, it was a blessing in which Jesus died for. The word of God says "He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

Dedication:
This page and this ministry through poem is dedicated "in loving memory" to my sister and friend Jacqueline M. Poole, whose poem was the first one recited publicly and is also the one referenced in the testimonial above. Her poetic expression was entitled "Our Precious Gift", it captured her essence and had everyone remembering the wonderful events of her life; rather than the dismal reality of death. She was celebrated that day, as her memory lived on in the hearts of those who knew her well.
I love you forever, Jackie.
